On March 4th, 2022, I was a former nun & missionary, and I met a new friend for coffee. Ben was working as a sous chef at the seminary and had a 3-year-old named Sammy. He was the twin brother of Sam, a transitional deacon I knew while living with my parents in the days following COVID. It was love at first sight for me and Ben. Later, Sam became a priest and celebrated our wedding on March 16, 2024.
Fast forward to present day :) In the two years that followed, being a stepmom to Sammy every weekend has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and we started trying to have one of our own as soon as we married, to bring another soul into this beautiful life, to be a unique expression of God, embraced in the love of the Trinity.
Over the last two years, we have found that we have unexplained infertility, even after my endometriosis removal surgery. We are turning to our family and friends once more and humbly asking your help in adopting an embryo. As many of you know, the Catholic Church is against IVF since it takes away from the dignity of God blessing the couple with children. However, because this process has already created thousands of embryos who wait in frozen limbo to be given a chance at life (sometimes for decades), we have discerned that this is God’s purpose for us, to adopt a child and give them the fighting chance at life.
We are asking for your help to bring our dream of having a child of our own to life. We are applying to Snowflakes Adoption Agency next month, unless we find a private match. We both work fulfilling careers for the Archdiocese, and Ben is now the Executive Chef. We need a little help to grow our family. Thank you for reading this, and God bless you all for your prayers! First and foremost, please support us with your prayers, since we are all dependent on each other, especially in living the wondrous vocations God has given us for this life.
We will keep you all updated on the process here from application to implantation and pregnancy :) here is an estimated example of the breakdown :
$3,000 - Colorado Home Study
$6,000 - Frozen Embryo Transfer
$8,500 - Snowflakes Program Fees
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please spread the word :) PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS A SUGGESTED TIP TO GOFUNDME ON THE DONATION PAGE…PLEASE BE AWARE YOU WILL NEED TO CUSTOMIZE THIS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TIP. I was not aware of this at the beginning. Thanks for everything :)
