Growing Partnerships Latter Library

Tax deductible
The Latter Library Garden Conservancy is a non-profit whose mission is to restore and maintain the grounds of the historic Milton H. Latter Library. The goal is to preserve the gardens as a park for all to enjoy, and continue to provide a neighborhood sanctuary to the surrounding community. For over a century this building has enhanced the beauty of St Charles Avenue, and it is up to us to make sure the library continues to thrive.
The library surroundings provide a beautifully landscaped and irrigated park, with lush green space appropriate for events both large and small. There are quiet, shady areas for reading and relaxing, such as the dedicated reading bench, Little Free Library, pergola, and oval garden. The grounds boast expansive lawns for concerts, book fairs, and movie nights, while the camellia garden has become a favorite for wedding photos.  It’s a great place to enjoy picnics, leashed dog walks, book group meetings and literary events.  Children are invited to listen to stories read under the oak trees, and enjoy the age-old childhood pleasure of rolling down the sloping terraces of the library grounds.  As more and more people come to use this new green space, upkeep will become a necessity. Therefore, the support of the community is vital to sustaining the landscaped park grounds for generations to come.
Maintaining grounds of this size can be a costly, year-round challenge.
With your help the donations raised will go towards further design installations and public spaces, planting of seasonal flowers, irrigation, lawn-care, trimming of trees and shrubs, and the replacement of ailing plants.
All donations will go directly to The Latter Library Garden Conservancy, which is recognized as a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit organization by the Internal Revenue Service
and is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions.
Come join us from 6-8pm Thursday November 8that the Latter Library, where the Garden Conservancy will be holding an annual fundraising event to celebrate our growing partnerships with the community.  There will be live music, food and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. This event signifies the end of our annual fundraising goal, where we will be thanking the community for their continued dedication to this historic New Orleans landmark.  Visit our website or Facebook page for more information.
