✨Help Boost The Grove Community Garden into 2024✨

Donation protected
We are The Grove Community Garden, a volunteer-run garden and tiny woodland tucked behind The Grove DIY skatepark on Lordship Lane where the old Harvester pub used to be.

First begun by two golden-hearted skaters with some juicy tomatoes in 2021, we now have a meadow, two seating areas, a rose garden, the most delicious plum trees and brambles, veggie beds, mushroom corners, wood piles and dead hedges, and some truly beautiful big trees.

We have hosted gigs, a production of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, site-specific artworks, and the thriving community of locals, skaters, friends and family who come get respite in our garden.

We are self-funded, but, with the help of donors like you, we are hoping to raise ✨£5000✨ to invest in the garden across 2024 and get it bursting with delicious and life-giving plants, herbs, veggies and fruit which we distribute to those who come by the garden, nourishing our community’s wellness and the local ecosystem at the same time.

So, if you or anyone you know loves gardens, trees, skateparks, foraging, DIY culture, Dulwich, south east London, community-run projects, the arts, solidarity and lovingly-reclaimed spaces, please donate or share this with someone who can!

Any and all amounts are immensely valuable to us.

We are raising money for

  • Compost from Surrey Docks Farm at £38 per tonne bag. We currently have money for 2 bags but need as many as we can get to supercharge the soil we are slowly rehabilitating ✨✨

  • Tools ie rakes, hoes, spades, trowels, hand forks, buckets and watering cans

  • Seeds. We gather and exchange seeds throughout the year but to keep a good and varied supply of herbs and veggies, we need to keep topping up! ☘️

  • A pond! We have various zones - a meadow, the veggie beds, mushroom corners, wood piles and dead hedges - and have been trying to get a pond going to support some wet-loving plants and minibeasts

  • A bramble archway! We have plenty of lively and tenacious brambles which we want to build an archway for them to grow over to keep one of our main paths clear, leave safe spaces for our family of foxes, and create a dreamy covered walkway ✨✨

  • Maintenance materials ie timber, piping, screws, string and metal/bamboo supports. As an open-access site, what we build gets a lot of rough treatment and we constantly need to rebuild and fix things up

  • Workshops. We want to extend the gift of this space to support people to run workshops or classes at The Grove in 2024 ✊

  • Miscellania! As we are an open-access space and a community-run project, things come up which we can’t predict. Having back-up funds means we can respond and grow as our people and plants need us to

If you’re in a position to donate anything, or to share this with people who could, we would be eternally grateful.

And, finally, come by and say hi!
