Our beloved Leslie is sad. Jake was her constant companion and best friend. For the last 2 years, her entire life revolved around his health issues. Now, weeks after her loss, Leslie is still grieving. She knows she has many things to be grateful for, but can we ever talk ourselves out of grief? That's why we are contacting you.

Leslie has given so much of herself over the years: assisting Afghan refugees and fundraising for a neighbor who lost the use of his legs are just 2 examples. In fact, she spearheaded so many fundraisers that she was recently awarded NC Volunteer of the Year! She has always been there for a friend in need...including throwing a stellar 50th (surprise) anniversary party for Kent & Steve.

We are thinking that at this moment in her life, we could give her a collective hug. Maybe she will want to donate this fund to NC State's veterinary research, or perhaps to a local Holocaust teaching program. In truth, we are not sure where her heart will lead, but we know it will do good!
