With unwaivering love and commitment Ryan and Frankie prayed and processed through every piece of paperwork, every surgery, doctor appointment, dietary restriction, dose of medication, week after week of sleepless nights, financial payments and even a quadruple bypass surgery for Asher. I have never seen a mother, father, sisters and brother so determined to claim these two little guys for their own and bring them into a loving family - no matter the financial or emotional cost.
The adoption process is crazy and expensive enough for one healthy child. Now imagine adopting two fragile infants with Down Syndrome in a foreign country, while your spouse is deployed, crossing every T and dotting every I, only to find out after 2 years that your paperwork is missing specific wording (translated from Japanese) and that your special babies may be separated from their family and DEPORTED.
Ryan and Frankie now face a legal battle (and mounting legal bills) to fight for their sons once and for all - and they need our help. ***UPDATE*** Ryan and Frankie have obtained a great (but expensive) lawyer to handle all of these issues for them. She has been very positive about the future but there is a lot of work to be done and LOTS of billable hours.
