The Hispanic Community Fund was created in response to an urgent and growing need we are witnessing firsthand in Minnesota. Over the past weeks, many Hispanic families in our community have been facing extreme uncertainty and fear. Due to recent immigration enforcement activity, parents are afraid to leave their homes, even to buy food. Others are experiencing sudden loss of income, reduced work hours, or complete job interruptions. As a result, families with children, elderly relatives, and limited resources are struggling to access basic necessities.

My brother and I are the owners of La Guadalupana Supermercado, a local grocery store that serves a large Hispanic population. We are deeply connected to this community and see these challenges daily through our customers, neighbors, and friends. Inspired by the values of solidarity and mutual support that define our culture, we decided to take action. This fundraiser was started to provide direct grocery assistance to families in need. Funds raised will be used to purchase essential food items—such as rice, beans, proteins, produce, and basic household staples—and deliver them directly to households that cannot safely or affordably leave their homes. Each care package is thoughtfully assembled to support a family during a difficult time and ensure no one goes hungry.

We are actively distributing grocery packages and sharing updates so supporters can see the real, immediate impact of their generosity.
