Groceries for Single Moms – Mother’s Day 2025 Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
Mother’s Day is almost here, and with it comes my annual fundraiser to recognize and support some of the most hardworking and selfless people in our communities—single mothers.
While I’m launching a little later than usual this year, the mission is still alive and strong: to remind these women that their efforts are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
As many of you know, I was raised by a single mom who worked multiple minimum-wage jobs to make ends meet. Her sacrifices shaped my life and are the reason I run this campaign each year. Too often, moms like her do everything for their families while receiving little support or recognition. This fundraiser is my way of changing that—one bag of groceries at a time.
What’s New This Year?
In past years, your donations have gone directly toward surprising moms in grocery stores with free groceries on Mother’s Day. We’ll be doing that again—but we’re also expanding.
This year, I’ve partnered with healthcare facilities across the DC area to identify single moms who may be the everyday heroes who rarely get spotlighted in hospitals—janitorial staff, nursing aides, sitters, front desk workers. Many of the women being recommended are not only single mothers, but also navigating additional challenges:
Caring for children with disabilities
Coping with the recent loss of a spouse or key support system
Struggling to provide for larger households with limited resources
With the help of these facilities, we’re ensuring that the support we give reaches moms who need it the most—and who are often overlooked.
Here’s How You Can Help:
Donate – any amount helps; even $5 can go a long way
Share this GoFundMe with your friends, family, or on social media
Spread love – wish a single mom a Happy Mother’s Day
Let’s come together again this year to make sure these incredible women feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for helping to carry it forward, year after year.
With love and gratitude,
Ben
