The Rodriguez Family

My name is Mark and I am a teacher of special needs individuals and a coach for parents of children who live with disabilities. Much of my work supports families managing life with a child who is neuro-different and I have met some amazing people who face and overcome a diverse array of challenges. But for some, overcoming certain obstacles is simply not realistic for many reasons.

I am sponsoring this GoFundMe for a mom, Alison and her two autistic girls, Bella and Juliana. The Rodriguez’s situation was never easy but it is becoming more and more dire as seizure disorders have escalated in both girls (this means trialing medications to find something that works and dealing with the side effects and out of the pocket expense, even for co-pays), mom is unable to work because she has to be home to take care of their health needs, the physical structure that they’ve called home is crumbling around them and without funds for repairs they are being forced to move into a shelter in the coming days. Food stamps allow them to eat but as you can imagine this is causing them to live very strictly and dietary conditions are of great concern for not being able to consistently provide healthy food for the three of them.

Health problems have been an issue as Bella and Juliana are often sick and Alison suffers with chronic intestinal issues.

Something needs to be done now. Alison does not have the means to be able to afford a new place to live apart from a shelter at this time and without being able to work she can no longer keep up the pace at which the obstacles are mounting.

Having a new, safe home for her girls and herself while being able to consistently and comfortably put good food on the table is all Alison is asking for. But time is of the essence. This family needs a permanent, healthy home environment ASAP!

So I am asking you for help. My goal is to raise $100,000 because this is a lifetime situation. Doctors, food, clothes, rent or mortgage, medication, etc., expenses will always be there. This probably isn’t even enough but it’s a start and a way for Alison to breathe and return to her dreams of making the best life possible for Bella and Juliana.
