If you have met Zach and Katie, for even one second, you know they are two of the kindest people ever! We were blessed enough to meet them and have known them for only a short time, but in the short time that we have, Katie loved our babies like her own! Our lives are more rich knowing her and Zach!
Katie and Zach welcomed this sweet squishy baby boy August 12th. In just a few short days of his life, he has proven he is a fighter!
Wilder will be having heart surgery this coming week! His mommy and daddy will be traveling to stay with him, and we would love to bless them in a practical way. Medical bills, lodging, food, etc shouldn't be a concern at all in this time!
Below is Katie's explanation of Wilder's upcoming medical procedure. Thank you for every dollar!
"Wilder has coarctation of the aorta, meaning the arch coming out of his heart to his body is too narrow. He needs surgery that will cut out the narrow portion, and then connect the two sides that are a good width together. Right now he is on prostaglandins, which open the valve out of his heart that closes at birth. This little valve let’s the blood bypass the narrow section of that aortic arch, so right now he is getting good blood flow and oxygen. But the meds are only a temporary fix. He also has a bicuspid aortic valve, which could cause problems later in life. His heart structures on the left side are noticeably smaller than the right side, which could explain why his heart blood pressure is unbalanced. He is being transferred to UVA tomorrow and having his surgery later this week. "
