Hi, my name is Griffin McDill and I am a member of Winnetka Scout Troop 20 in Illinois. I am a Life Scout who is currently working on my Eagle Project, and raising funds to support and complete the project with the appropriate materials in order to create a safe and sturdy final product.

For my Eagle project, I am building 5 benches for a library/playground in the Ellembelle district in Ghana for an organization called Future Builder Scouts (https://www.futurebuilderscouts.com). Future Builder Scouts is a program that is dedicated to bringing Scouting principles to Ghana and helping instill the virtues of citizenship and service, and develop leadership skills in the country’s youth. I had the privilege of visiting Ghana last year, where I helped build a playground and play with the local children. These benches would provide a much needed place for the kids and adults to sit and relax while reading or watching the playground.

Any donations would be very much appreciated, as they will be used to fund the purchase of all materials (lumber, bolts, etc.), tools (sandpaper, sanders, drills, wrenches, etc), and supplies (tarps, stands, etc). Any extra funds will be donated directly to Future Builder Scouts in Ghana. This project means a lot to me as I have seen firsthand how much the library and playground benefit the local community.
