Anthony Wood left this world in the early morning hours of May 17th. The impact he had on all of us who loved him is immeasurable and there really aren’t enough words to express how profoundly he will be missed. Anthony was a loving and devoted husband who ensured that his wife Aura would not have to worry about financial stress after his passing. This GoFundMe is for his beautiful children who loved him dearly and who set their lives aside for weeks on end to be there for him during his transition from this world to the heavens.
No matter our age, losing a parent is one of life’s greatest losses and the Wood children feel that loss deeply. Over the last few weeks, I have watched them juggle brokenheartedness and grief with grace. They have time and time again dropped everything to be by their father’s side when it was needed. They have showered him with love and care every chance they got. They have dealt with unforeseen hurdles, missed countless days of work (some even quit their jobs to tend to him), their kids missed school and events, and left their comfy beds to sleep on his floor (and more recently in cars), just so they could be with their Daddy when the time came. I know Tamara, Jessica and Tony feel so blessed that Anthony was their dad but I think he was even more blessed to have them as his children.
Witnessing their love for their dad and their bond with each other as they navigated this monumental loss in their lives moved me to create this fundraiser. They don’t know I am doing it but I wanted to allow others to bless them in a time of unimaginable pain. So I ask you on behalf of these people I love so dearly, if Anthony Wood has ever made an impact on your life, please consider donating to this GoFundMe. The funds raised will go directly to Tamara, Jessica and Tony to help ease the financial strain that comes with losing a loved one, especially one who has fought an extended illness. The goal of this is to provide a bit of cushion so that they can be allowed the space to grieve without worrying about financial stress.
