Gregory Mitchum Foundation- Hays County

Greg Mitchum was a dedicated police officer/ sheriff’s deputy for Hays County and an extraordinary photographer. Before his journey to Heaven he asked that Corporal Leigh Treat and myself (Stacey Mitchum) set up a foundation to help employees and their family members of Hays County. He had so much pride that he wanted any money left over that we received as donations from his family and friends to be used as a start up. Leigh and I are proud to do so.

The goal of this foundation, per Greg’s request, is to assist Hays County employees and their family members during time of illness: financially, provide resources, emotional support, etc.

The planning is in its infancy so we do not have an official 501(c) at this time. We envision this foundation to be large. I have learned so much through these last few months that I feel I can be valuable (as a wife and as a family nurse practitioner) in adding some resources that recipients might need; along with Corporal Treat that has access to innumerable resources as well.

We will start working on that after the holidays but 100% of the proceeds will go to the Gregory Mitchum Foundation ( name may or may not be changed as we proceed, but plan to have his name attached somehow)
