Supporting Families With Food – From One School Community to Another

As parents, we all know one simple truth:

a child cannot learn, play or grow on an empty stomach.

From the Green School community, we want to come together to support families and children in nearby townships who are currently struggling to access daily meals. This initiative is created by parents, for parents and children, with one very concrete goal: providing food where it is urgently needed.

Why we are doing this

In many townships, families are facing daily uncertainty about food. For children, this often means going to school hungry, lacking energy, focus and the basic feeling of safety that food provides.

We believe that no child should have to worry about their next meal.

How the donations will be used

We focus on direct, practical impact:

• All donated funds will be used exclusively to buy food

• We purchase supplies directly from wholesalers, ensuring maximum value for every euro

• We personally deliver the food to the township, together with local partners

• Meals are prepared and distributed via local soup kitchens and food initiatives

Impact example

• €75 already covers one full soup kitchen day, providing approximately 300–400 warm meals

• Smaller donations matter just as much, together they create real change

Every contribution, no matter the size, directly turns into meals on plates.

Transparency and trust

We understand how important trust is when donating. That’s why we commit to:

• Personally overseeing the purchasing and delivery of food

• Sharing updates, photos and results so you can see the impact of your support

• Keeping this initiative small, personal and transparent, without overhead or intermediaries

This is not an abstract charity, it is hands-on help.

Donation of goods

In addition to financial support, we will also organize collection days for goods at the Green School.

Think of:

• Non-perishable food items

• Clothing in good condition

• Children’s essentials

Dates and times for collection days will be shared via the Green School social channels.

A message from us as parents

We look at our own children and know how much safety, nourishment and care shape their future. Through this initiative, we hope to pass a small part of that safety on to other families.
