Green Lake Community Watch

Donation protected
We are raising funds to make Green Lake a safer neighborhood. I have been personally helping with mostly night shifts; this has involved tasks such as patrolling the area and engaging with neighbors at night making sure everyone is safe and making an effort to discourage any crime in the area, as well as helping some of the homeless individuals in crisis find help or resources. Unfortunately, it has consumed much of my time and tightened my schedule. So, I have been asking for help from some of our neighbors and we are now expanding and have officially formed the Green Lake Watch.

In light of the problems with policing today, we are working towards a way for the community to build a connection with the Police department in order to have the accountability, transparency and understanding needed in reforming a very broken system and preventing more senseless tragedies.

We are now recruiting more volunteers, scheduling neighborhood meetings, coordinating with the North Precinct of the Seattle Police Department, and setting up a bulletin board on discord for neighbors and business owners to report issues and keep everyone aware of what’s happening in the area.

To give this the attention it deserves we need some financial help to keep it going.

We are asking for donations towards equipment, and protective gear, as well as to help fund the extra time put into providing training for our volunteers, overseeing the watch, and providing regular armed uniformed security patrols, to help deter potentially dangerous problems from occurring.

So please, help us in making Green Lake a safer place for everyone.
