My name is Cam, and I know and have loved this family personally for over a decade. Right now, they really need our help.
The Greens: Justin and his pregnant wife, Cheryl and their son, Nathan (4 y.o.) and soon-arriving baby girl, Naomi, are in a dire situation and need immediate relief, support, and love from our community.

This sweet family had been living together with their extended family all under one roof for many years (7 people in 3 bedrooms) until they were jolted out of their home due to weather damage. Insurance wouldn't cover the damage and they were left with no other choice other than to sell their beloved home just after Christmas. The money they'd hope to get from the sale and get them back on their feet only came out to a few thousand dollars after being split 4 ways -- hardly enough for a deposit on even an apartment. More than that, getting those meager finances were delayed, putting the family in dire financial straits as they had to come up the immediate high costs of relocating on such short notice.
So as soon as the Greens' family received the money, they immediately began putting in multiple applications to rent a home that would accommodate everyone and allow everyone to stay together. Unfortunately, the applications were not accepted and the family was torn apart.

They ended up having to live in a hotel for almost a week, draining any extra money they had left. Family and friends that would usually open their homes up in a heartbeat, were not willing to let them stay due to the ongoing pandemic.
Finally, after staying with family, the Greens moved into their own apartment mid-February but at a very high cost. A deposit, prorated rent, basic essentials, and other moving costs further plummeted them into an unstable financial standing, even though both Justin and Cheryl work full-time. All that added up was just a few hundred dollars short of a full month's rent and Justin was forced to get an advance on his paycheck from his employer.
However, because of having to use the program that allows you to access your check before the actual payday, the Greens were only getting 50-60 % of his typical paycheck. In mid-March, Justin put in many requests to work overtime, but none was available. Justin then quickly decided to pick up a second job that he had done in the past as an Instacart shopper, but there was a 3-4 week delay in his start date. So, in the meantime, Justin applied and signed up to do Doordash, but due to all the work schedules being taken up Justin still to this day has not been able to start Doordash, but he did eventually pick up Instacart as a second job.

They did all they could to bring in extra income, even sending Cheryl back to work despite her being late in her high-risk pregnancy. Despite it all, they over-drafted their accounts to afford rent in both March and April. At the end of April, the doctor put Cheryl on mandated maternity leave which began on May 1st. The Greens have been able to keep up on most of the other bills and expenses but things have been rough.
On top of it all, Baby Girl Naomi is due to arrive any day and Cheryl will be induced May 22nd if she hasn't gone into labor. The time is urgent for this family to get the immediate financial relief they need, and the peace of mind they'll need as parents of a toddler and a newborn in a small one-bedroom apartment away from the familial support (and child care) they were accustomed to when they all lived together.

Due to Justin being on his job for 11 months but less than a year, Justin had to exhaust all of his vacation and sick time to take Cheryl to all her prenatal doctors appointments as she does not drive.
The lack of sick time means Justin will be going back and forth to care for his family and be at work-- hopefully having enough time to spend a few precious days with his newborn daughter and family as they adjust to being a family of four.
The Greens want their baby girl to have all the things she needs when she arrives and to get out of the vicious financial cycle they have been thrust into, despite their best efforts. The Greens are only 2 weeks away from their June rent being due and they do not want to overdraft their account again just to pay it on time.
This family really needs so much love and support, so any donation of any amount would be so helpful in helping the Greens get the remaining items for their soon-coming baby girl as well as help with their June rent so the can breathe financially and get back to the good place. They have been through so much, but despite all the transitions and obstacles they have encountered, they remain strong in their faith and persevere day by day.
Please give, share, or send a prayer for this precious young family.
