I can’t breathe. On May 25th, George Floyd uttered these last words as a police officer kneeled on his neck, killing him. He is not the first innocent Black person to be senselessly murdered by the police, and he will not be the last. The Black community has been subjected to centuries of slavery, segregation, and socio-economic disenfranchisement. The Greek organizations at McGill are proud to stand in solidarity with members of the Black community who are terrorized by racial violence and inequity. We have joined forces to create a fundraiser to support Demand Justice Now, an ACLU initiative chosen by Black student groups on campus for its front-lines fight against racial injustice. We encourage you to donate as much as you can, and to spread the word. Silence is compliance.
