Kickin' for NB CO-RESPONSE 2021
The New Bedford Police Department (NBPD) and Child & Family Services (CFS), Emergency Service Program has teamed up to raise awareness and funds for Suicide Prevention. NBPD and CFS have been working in a partnership for the past 2 years and established a clinician and police co-response program, where a behavioral health clinician and police officer respond jointly to all mental health calls by utilizing a teamed approach. As partners, we are in agreement that suicidal behavior is one of the biggest challenges observed in this partnership and as a result, we are teaming up with community sponsors to host a summer kickball event to raise funds to spread suicide awareness through marketing campaigns and other avenues.
All of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Greater New Bedford Suicide Prevention Coalition. While we have been lucky enough to have some great sponsors for this event we are open and seeking additional financial support at this time. Please feel free to donate anything you can to this great cause and to suicide awareness and prevention.
