Great Limerick Run for Scoil Naomh Íosaf Rathkeale

Hello! My name is El Reid-Buckley and after years of saying I would do the Great Limerick Run, I finally am! I will be running to raise funds for Ms. Williams' class in Scoil Naomh Íosaf in Rathkeale, who I had the pleasure of working with as part of my job in Fighting Words.
The boys were full of amazing ideas, and wrote an excellent story "The Start of the Revenges", that was not only full of twists and turns, but had an excellent message too: Even if you have a disability you can still learn and be whoever you want to be.
My goal is to raise enough money to cover the costs associated with them travelling to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in Dublin, and whatever excess money is raised will go towards adding books to their library.
Having access to creativity through reading and writing as a child, and having teachers like Ms. Williams' throughout my school years, is exactly why I am where I am today.
The school principal, Ms Hilary Pratt said: "At Scoil Naomh Íosaf Rathkeale, we firmly believe in the transformative power of the arts in a child's development. Our 3rd and 4th class students recently studied The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as part of their literacy curriculum, and it has truly captivated their imaginations.
The opportunity to see this beloved story come to life on stage will deepen their understanding and spark a lifelong love for the arts. For many of our students, these experiences are not just enriching—they are life-changing.
As a DEIS Band 1 school, the support we receive is crucial in providing our children with opportunities that many would otherwise miss. The arts have the power to inspire, educate, and open doors for our students, and we are passionate about giving them the chance to experience this magic.
We are seeking funding to help make this incredible opportunity a reality, and we know it will have a lasting impact on our students' lives."
Reading and writing are, of course, tenets of literacy, but they also allow children to dream, build empathy, and give themselves confidence when they may not have had much. Please donate generously to help make this a reality for these wonderful students!
