Our beautiful, brave little boy Grayson is just 4 years old, and for the past 8 months, he’s been courageously battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He has faced more hospital stays, chemotherapy, scans, and procedures than any child should ever endure and yet, he keeps smiling, keeps laughing, and keeps showing us all what true strength looks like.
We are so excited that, after 9 months of living away in Perth for his frontline treatment, Grayson will finally be able to come home this August. Our hearts are so full just thinking about having him back in his own bed, under his own roof, surrounded by the people who love him most.
But even at home, life won’t be simple or easy as he will continue ongoing chemotherapy treatment for the next 2 years both at home and frequent trips to Perth for more intense chemo. Grayson’s immune system is still incredibly fragile, which means every appointment, even just a routine blood test still has to happen at Perth Children’s Hospital. And the places most kids run to with joy playgrounds, pools, fun centers are off-limits for now. They’re simply too risky for his health.
More than anything Grayson wants his own little nature play area at home, a safe and private space where he can ride his bike, climb, practice his ninja moves, and just be a kid again.
Our incredible friends Kade and Luke who are more like family to us have stepped up in the most amazing way. They have challenged themselves to ride the entire Munda Biddi Trail starting in the Perth Hills all the way to Albany over 1070km, all to help bring Grayson’s dream to life.
With their help, we are raising funds to:
- Cover Grayson’s ongoing medical and travel costs between home and Perth
- Build him a special, safe play space at home where he can laugh, move, and play freely while he continues his treatment
- Financial recovery for our family
Every dollar we raise will help bring joy, freedom, and childhood back into Grayson’s world things that cancer has tried so hard to take from him.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you whether you can donate, share this page, or simply cheer the Greenmount’s on as they ride for Grayson. Your support means the world to our family, and it brings us one step closer to giving Grayson the chance to play, dream, and live like every child deserves.
