Loving son, Michael Henry Miller & loving Granddaughter Jessica Miller are creating this fundraiser on behalf of Herman and Gloria Miller. Herman and Gloria were husband and wife and are both buried together. The picture below is of Herman on the left and Gloria on the right during WW2. Gloria's father stands in the middle. Herman was in the Merchant Marines and Gloria worked in a torpedo factory in Brooklyn New York. They had three children.

Their grave site has been barren for 53 years. Herman passed away in May of 1968 at age 49 leaving behind his loving wife and two teenage son's and a six year old daughter. Herman had no insurance at the time and was buried with a Catholic funeral and placed to rest in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, Long Island.

Gloria passed away in January 1986 and was buried with a Protestant funeral and placed to rest next to her loving husband. She also had no insurance and passed away suddenly from pneumonia at age 59 in Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

Her funeral expenses were left to her son Michael Henry Miller at a time when he had a wife and four small children to look after. Michael had to borrow money from a relative on his wife's side to cover the expenses. The family was not aware of yearly expenses for the upkeep of the grave site and were also not aware of the regulations for a Flat Grass Level Granite Plaque for their gravestone. This type of plaque is what is required at their grave site area. We are hoping that the donations received will help cover the costs of the yearly back expenses and the Flat Grass Level Granite Plaque to properly mark their grave.

                 The cost's are as follows:
$2200 for back arrears on the grave site upkeep for 53 years.
$750 for a one time fee for all future upkeep expenses on the grave.
                  $500-$2000 for a 2' x 1' x 4" Flat Grass Level Granite Plaque.

(The back arrears on the grave and future upkeep expense must be paid before a plaque can be placed on the grave. St. Charles Cemetery regulations).

Nephew Michael Joseph Miller is currently working on the pricing for the Flat Grass Level Granite Plaque.  All Donations will be greatly appreciated and will help bring closure to this chapter in our lives. With love from the Miller family, thank you for your support and may Herman & Gloria Miller continue to rest in peace.
