Tim Wilcox did what a lot of us were unable to do in a time of true need. He stepped up when our beloved colleague and dear friend, Fred Nelson, needed him most. As Fred's health deteriorated, Tim was there by his side every step of the way. Not only did Tim and Rita take care of Fred during the early stages of his illness, Tim also worked closely with medical staff to make sure they had a proper diagnosis of his ALS condition—a mystery for several months leading up to his passing.

He helped Fred get care when needed and stayed by his side as an advocate, helping manage changing symptoms and minimizing his pain.

Approaching planting season, Tim spent weeks away from home to be with Fred in the hospital, and we all at John Deere owe him our gratitude for being there when Fred needed him most.

This GoFundMe serves as a token of our gratitude for Tim and his family—for being there when it counted. Tim and Rita are unaware we are doing this and we plan to present them with the proceeds during Fred's tribute on June 5th.
