Grassroots production of badly needed PPE

In addition to being a full time husband, dad, and medical student I am also a MAKER! I spend my free time considering how to build things and innovate and change the world around me for the better via 3D printing, woodworking, and other modes of creation.
We are all being affected by the current COVID-19 situation, which has inspired me a great deal to do what I can to help out. One of the main problems our front line healthcare providers are facing is a severe shortage of Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE. With the aid of another member of the community I have developed plans for several of the most needed PPE items that are ready to make and deploy (face shields, masks). In addition to these ready-to-deploy items I am also working on prototypes for other hospital equipment projected to be in short supply (ventilators, valves, etc.)
I have basically converted our attic into a mini factory for producing these items. Unfortunately, scaling up beyond low numbers of prototypes is expensive! I am hoping my friends and family will help me raise additional funds to purchase said materials to begin distributing them ASAP.
My main focus at this time are Face Shields. I have heard from several hospitals who have ZERO of them at this time, and thus are not able to implement them as a part of their infection control plan. At the moment I am able to produce about 8 of them per day, but with some additional equipment and automation I can potentially increase that to around 50/day on my own... Imagine 50 nurses/doctors/first responders out there who could be SIGNIFICANTLY less likely to be incapacitated by COVID-19 with this equipment...
So please help! And feel free to ask any questions about what YOU might be able to do to help aside from donating money/materials...
