Grapplethon in memory of Gary
Grapplethon 2025: Third Edition — Fighting for Men’s Mental Health and Suicide Bereavement Support
Date: 27/09/2025
Duration: 24 Hours
Location: RGA Preston
Purpose: Raise funds for ANDYSMANCLUB and Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS)
This September, we return to the mats for the third edition of Grapplethon — a 24-hour endurance event that’s raised over £10,000 since it began. We come together once again in memory of our dear friend Gary, and in solidarity with all who face mental health challenges or live with the loss of a loved one to suicide.
Our Mission
We’re proud to partner again with ANDYSMANCLUB, a charity creating safe spaces for men to talk openly, and with SOBS, an organisation offering vital support to those bereaved by suicide. Every roll, every story, and every pound raised helps these causes continue their life-changing work.
Why We Grapple
Men’s mental health remains a silent struggle for too many. Grapplethon is more than a test of physical stamina — it’s a living symbol of resilience, connection, and community. Every minute on the mats is a reminder that none of us has to face life’s battles alone.
Event Highlights
24-Hour Grappling Marathon: Continuous rolling from start to finish, with participants swapping in and out to keep the energy alive.
Everyone Welcome: Whether you grapple, spectate, or simply show up to cheer, your support matters. Families, friends, and the wider community are encouraged to attend.
Stories of Strength: Hear from those affected by mental health struggles and suicide bereavement — voices that remind us why this fight is so important.
How You Can Help
Join In: Roll for an hour, or for all 24 — the choice is yours.
Donate: No amount is too small to make a difference.
Spread the Word: Share the event online and offline to help us reach more people and raise more awareness.
Together for Change
Since its first roll, Grapplethon has been about more than jiu-jitsu — it’s about unity, remembrance, and hope. This year, let’s push past our limits once again and show that when a community comes together, lives can be changed.
