Grant MisiagBeckler's Project @ Dubuque Arboretum
Tax deductible
Hello, my name is Grant MisiagBeckler. I am associated with Troop 51 of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa. I am currently a Life Scout working towards the rank of Eagle Scout.
One of the requirements to reach the rank of Eagle is to plan, lead, and complete a service project benefiting a non-profit other than the Scouts BSA or a project that would benefit the community. For my project, I was given the opportunity to build a new pavilion in the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
This pavilion will be called the Japanese Seating Garden Pavilion, and will be located in the Japanese garden near the Koi fish pond. This pavilion will give visitors the opportunity to take a break in the shade from a hike or take in the beautiful view. It will be a walk through pavilion, with a bench on both sides.
In order to build this structure, we will need around $3,000 to afford supplies and services. The Dubuque Arboretum suggested we make the pavilion more authentic and use cedar to build the structure, which is very costly, almost doubling the price. They said they would maintain this cedar, which means it will continue to be around for many years to come. The pavilion will also be placed in four cement bases, so the structure will be unable to fall over or tip very easily. All funds donated go directly to the Arboretum for them to distribute to me, and all extra donations are sent to the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for their benefit.
To all who donate; the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and I thank you. By donating towards the project, you will create a better experience for the thousands of visitors every year. If you know anyone else who is willing to donate, please share this page with them and any of your friends. Once again, thanks for the support.
