Grange Park Improvements - Friends of EB Parks
The Friends of East Boldon Parks have been an integral part of the local community for over 14 years, organising community events such as Picnic in the Park and the Scarecrow Festival.
We run these events in the first instance for the local community to come together and enjoy, with the second aim of raising much needed funds to improve our local parks and area. In the past we were a key player in the full refurbishment of Mundles Park, which is now enjoyed not only by local residents but those from further afield, and we are very proud of this achievement.
We’ve recently been advised that the South Tyneside Council has secured funding to resurface a substantial area of the Grange Park play area, something we have been pushing for for several years.
Due to the nature of the work to be completed, we are now in a time sensitive juncture. We are in the position to use previous raised funds to buy two new pieces of play equipment for the park. We have taken advice and decided to add a large disabled access roundabout and a rotating climbing frame.
The quote has come in at £19,765, and we have in the region of £15,000 available. We urgently need to raise the difference so we can improve the play area with this new equipment, and need to be able to do this in the time scales the LA have for the resurfacing work.
During these strange times of Covid and lockdown, we haven’t been able to run our normal events, or do other fundraising activities, so we ask that the local community get behind us and make a donation, however big or small to contribute to making the park a better place for our children.
Thank you in advance for helping us to make a huge difference to our local area.
