This was hard to make because my family is very private, never asks for help and definitely doesn’t ask for handouts. We have and always will figure it out. I work two jobs and my sister works 12 hour days for us to provide a life for our kids we know that they deserve. However, this wasn’t hard to make for the WHO that it’s for, who taught us that value of hard work- and that is my mom, Pam. At 67, she still works harder than anyone I know, vigorously stocking the overnight shelves at a store most people shop at without appreciation. Growing up, she has opened up her tiny home for people to live more times than I can count on both hands, never expecting anything in return.. and this time, she, more than anyone else, deserves that same support. She not only raised her 3 kids as a single mom, but I witnessed her raise her grandchildren and now… her great grandson.
In a phone call, her life changed in an instant when she was asked to take in my 2 month old great nephew (her great grandson). He had 9 broken bones and without hesitation or question, took him in.
This is to help offset legal battles, and any medical and/or personal necessity she will need to help care for/raise a growing infant and to give some piece of mind while scared as she had to quit working while not receiving any FMLA/disability or federal/state help as she doesn’t yet have any legal custody rights and is not yet in retirement. Her plan is to go back to work, overnights, which is insanity and I know she’s stubborn enough to try to do it. This isn’t a pitty party by any means, but a warrior fund because that’s exactly who she is. A warrior. And sometimes - warriors need support too. I want to know at the end of the day, I did everything in my power to help her. They say it takes a village when you have kids, and I want her to know, she has one.
So if you feel led in any way, big or small, financially, prayerfully, to send necessities like diapers, etc and/or just support, well wishes, or any advise-please reach out! Any and all support are appreciated more than you’d ever know in this time ❤️
