I am a 47-year-young grandma of 4, and I am caring for 2 of my grandchildren full-time by myself. They are boys ages 9 and 7 who came to live with me full-time in June of 2022. I have recently started the filing process for guardianship of them. Our village is very small, and while their paternal grandparents do help when they can, they are also raising the boys' baby sister. My dad lives with us as well, so I can help take care of him too. I work full-time, Monday through Friday, and any time off I get is dedicated to the boys' doctor appointments and such.
With that being said, I found out last week I've had walking pneumonia for months and an inflamed right lung. As a result, I missed all but 1 day of work last week. I cannot afford to miss even 1 day, let alone 4, as my budget is very tight. Now I'm not going to make rent or be able to pay all the other bills that are due, along with needing repairs to my vehicle and buying food to feed 2 growing hungry boys. I make too much money to get SNAP assistance for food.
Any funds raised will be spent for the rent ($500), utilities ($300), car repairs ($200), car payment ($500), car insurance ($150), and the remaining on food, im still amazed at how much little boys can eat.
I really don't like to ask for help unless I absolutely need it, and I definitely never thought I would consider doing a GoFundMe, but I have exhausted all other resources and do not know what else to do. I swallowed my pride and did this. If you cannot help monetarily, I am open to any suggestions, prayers, shares, good vibes—anything at all helps, and I appreciate every one of you ❤️
