Hi, my name is Mindy Moulton and I am setting this up for my dad who is a hard working, small business owner in Green, OH. He has served his community for over fifty years and served his nation during Vietnam. Over the last 2-3 years his garage that he works out of has been vandalized several times totaling well over $50,000 worth of job equipment and materials along with personal heirloom tools his dad gave to him. Insurance will not cover the theft because a vacant house sits on the property even though the garage itself is separate and unaffiliated. A year ago on a Saturday morning at 11:30 am, my dad and I saw a truck pull back to his garage. My 77 year old dad tried to stop the thieves and in doing so was dragged by the truck as it sped away and left him with broken ribs. Besides is social security checks, his only retirement is to keep working, which now is nearly impossible as all his tools and equipment have been stolen. Despite numerous police calls and even a recent arrest for “trespassing,” this situation is not a priority for the summit county police department as I’m sure there are more immediate concerns they must handle. However, for my dad, his livelihood and hard work has been robbed from him. He doesn’t have enough extra money to replace his tools to even fix the garage and is currently trying to fix up a van to use for his business with borrowed tools, in the driveway, in the cold. He would not want me to ask for help as even in his situation he feels others need help before him. Plus, he is an old school man who would rather find a way or suffer the consequence in silence. I am asking for this amount to at least get a used work van for him that works, or tools and parts to help him fix his current van. Anything extra will go toward equipment and supplies to repair the garage, replace equipment and materials, or stop the thieves such as trail cams. So if you are looking for a way to help a veteran, community small business, a fellow Christian, or hardworking man who needs help, please consider donating.
Thank you
