Grand Forks Good Friends Laundry Love 2024-25

Hello, our names are Jen and Akira. We are a mom and daughter team that found info about Laundry Love through Akira's BeStrong orgnization app. We know the struggles of trying to get laundry done, especially as a bigger family of 6 people, and felt it was something we could try and provide for the community. It is our mission to help those in the Greater Grand Forks area to get clean clothing and bedding which will lead to a healthier life overall. Through events we will host and other individual circumstances, we hope to serve the community and bring diginity to many through clean laundry.

* Laundry Love is a program/charity that helps groups/individuals in communities with the need for laundry services. Laundry Love is a neighboring movement that partners with groups, schools, and local laundromats to wash the clothes and bedding of low-income and/or no-income families and person(s).

We have established Suds Laundromat on Demers Ave as the main place we will be hosting events. If we have a good funding plan in place, we will utilize other establishments in town or provide funds to those who may not have transportation to events so they can get some loads done at their home. Sometimes a little help goes a long way.

We have gotten enough funds over the past 6 months to do three events so far as well as get some extra supplies for people we serve. We also have gotten some awesome donations of soap, baskets, and more thanks to some great people. But so far, its gotten us by just enough.

This fundraiser will help up build up more funds to continue our mission to give people the diginity with clean clothes and bedding to sleep restfully. We have it set low since we are only serving 3 to 4 families an event but we want to be able to set up a full day where we just have enough to pay for anyone's laundry at the establishment, even those who come ready to do so themselves. This is how we want an event to go, walk in and be blessed.
