For the Love Of Our Grandchild Hailie Jade

In September 2015 we were in for the shock of our lives. We were told that our son and his girlfriend were not going to be able to keep custody of our unborn grandchild, and she would need to enter Foster Care when she was born because of circumstances in their lives that hinder them to take care of a child let alone themselves. We made the decision along with our family to take guardianship of Hailie once she came into this world. We gathered everything we needed and started to call different lawyers in Maine and asking questions to start the process. Things were happening very quickly and we did not have a lot of time to get this ball moving. We are from Long Island, NY and we had to obtain Hailie from Maine where she would be born. Hotels were booked, ferry was booked, and our lawyer was ready to help us with the case. We went up a few days prior to Hailie's arrival date to meet the lawyer and get everything in place for when she entered this world. Miss Hailie Jade was born into this world on October 1st. She was the most beautiful baby and had such a twinkle in her eyes. After a 2 day stay in the hospital, my husband and I went to court to be granted the guardianship and in which the judge gave us without question. We headed home to New York with our one week old Blessing to start our journey with her. Hailie was a great baby, she loved to eat, sleep, play, and repeat. We spoiled her as well as her extended family. Hailie is now a thriving 3 year old, who loves to dance, sing, play dress up, read, she loves to tease,she loves life. Hailie is so full of spirit, everyone who comes into contact with her falls instantly inlove, especially with her smile. Here is why I am writing this blog today, in June 2018 we got another shock that Hailie's mother is trying to regain custody of Hailie and terminate our guardianship. We were devastated about the news and called our lawyer right away to begin our fight to keep our granddaughter. We have Hailie's best interest at heart. We are teaching her about God, values, traditions, to be kind, to be respectful, about Love, not only for others but for herself. We never want her to know or feel abandonment, that she will be safe and secure with Pop pop and I, and her extended family. Hailie has her own life down here and thriving, she attends school, she has friends, and she has her half sister and her loving 3 cousins. This is where we need to plea for your help. Our savings have been exchausted, the Legal fees, hotel fees, and travel expenses are becoming overwhelming and we will do anything to save our grandchild. We are about to enter the biggest battle of our lives and we need every kind of support you can spare. Adoption is our goal. Please pray for our family and especially our Hailie Jade, who was an innocent child among this craziness. We have protected and cared for hailie since she was 2 days old, we pray that we will get justice for Hailie and she will remain in our home.
