Hi everyone -

 

My name is Roby Mann. I'm a close friend of Kaya's from his high school and college days. I've had the pleasure of watching Kaya grow as a musician, teacher, community leader, and much more over the past decade. As he now graduates from Portland State University with a degree in Music Education, with a focus on choral performance, Kaya is taking the next steps to becoming a music teacher and beacon of musical talent in our community.

 

This fundraiser is to put together a graduation gift for Kaya. But this gift represents more than that - it is also a big thank you to Kaya for his outstanding involvement in the music community in Portland. Kaya frequently offers to play drums for various music and dance ensembles at a moment's notice, sometimes with little or no compensation for his services. He also lends his voice to multiple choral groups around town. This gift is a thank you and an investment in Kaya's future musical contributions to our community. He may use it for expensive instruments/audio equipment or for any other purchases he needs to make as a professional musician.
