My name is Kendel, and I am graciously reaching out during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Asking for help does not come easily to me. It makes me feel like a burden to others. I’m reaching out with grace, gratitude and hope—for the sake of my children. I am currently in a period of transition and no longer have shelter for myself. I’ve had amazing family and friend’s generously take me in and offer their space—but realistically that’s not fair to them as a permanent solution. I work full-time for AACPS as a kindergarten TA, side gigs to earn as much as I can to provide for kids/myself, and working towards finishing my degree—but as more challenges arise it feels impossible to catch up and provide. Although I can handle living with very little, my heart aches at the thought of not having a place where I can be together with my children. They are my entire world—anyone who knows me knows that my kids are my life! Out of deep respect for their privacy and mine, I am not comfortable sharing my specific details. Please know that this decision comes solely from a place of protection and love for them. I am, however, more than willing to provide character references to anyone who wishes. Any support means more than I can express. Over the years, I’ve transitioned from being a stay-at-home mom (the best time in my life and wouldn’t trade for the world!) to divorce, back to work and school, and now completely starting over—your generosity would help me rebuild, regain stability, and, most importantly, create a space where my children and I can be together again. Although things have been difficult, I am overwhelmed with the love and support I have received from family, friends, and my community. I would be lost without their love and support. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am truly grateful for every ounce of kindness and compassion shown to us during this time. May your 2026 be filled with joy and good health. ❤️
