Gourock Front Defib Funds
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
After my Brother, Kieran, sadly passed away unexpectedly at the end of 2018, my family did various fundraising events to raise money for not only charities but to have a defib placed down the front of Gourock for the public to access.
Not only did my dad, Steven Cameron, need to raise funds for the defib - there were also a lot of meetings/politics involved even to have the defib allowed by the council.
Since being installed the defib has already been used numerous times, with myself putting new pads in the kit the other day for it to be used by the ambulance service 2 days later to help save someones life. This shows exactly how important it is to have defibs located around the community that are well maintained.
Currently, my dad has been paying himself to replace the pads and maintain the defib and has never batted an eye or asked anyone for a penny. With the costs to replace both the adult and child pads each time they are used or when they go out of date, costing £150 each time, I thought it would be good to start a community fundraiser to help keep up with these costs and spread the responsibility - IF you wanted to/can of course!
As I said, as a family we will keep helping my dad cover any costs and maintain the defib but if any individuals or local businesses wish to donate towards this life saving equipment it will be very much appreciated.
Thank you! x
