Good Samaritans is plural because Everyone is our Neighbor

Donation protected
This is Barnabas Orphanage. Three kind-hearted souls shepherd 200 motherless children. This amazes me. I know about this orphanage only because the administrator, Maxwell, contacted me. He was NOT asking for money or a donation or anything at all. He left me an extensive, thoughtful message of support on a social media platform after he saw from an angry comment I was hurting. I didn’t know him and he didn’t need to. He was earnest and kind. At that moment, he embodied God. He didn’t know me. He didn’t need to help me. And, yet, like the Good Samaritan he stopped to give me his hand. Consider giving something, anything. Any money collected will be given (I hope) to St Athnasius to be donated through the Catholic Church. But it doesn’t matter if you’re Catholic. I doubt the kids in the photo are. I don’t want to pour on the syrup and be ridiculous, but I honestly feel compelled to aid. And I know there’ll be some side-eye. Another fake charity. And so on. But after the honest, genuine note of care Maxwell sent me, after he called me and we spoke, I have faith that the children will be OK.

So, it doesn’t matter what you give, but consider giving something. If for nothing else, at least you’ll make yourself feel good. A day’s good deed done! 5, 10, 15, it doesn’t matter. Giving is good doubly so. We feel good. The unseen, unknown, feel good.

nothing wrong with that.
