Fund Good Samaritan Summer Youth Baseball Camp
Donation protected
Hi, we are high school baseball players organizing and leading a youth baseball camp for 25 underserved San Antonio kids between the ages of 6-9 this summer at Johnson High School. The mission of Good Samaritan Community Services is to serve as a catalyst for change, supporting youth, individuals, and families by providing excellent community services to overcome economic poverty. We are offering baseball for the first time this summer as a direct result of our desire to volunteer and serve. We want to introduce the game of baseball to these kids while being strong positive student athlete role models. Our hope is to raise enough money to cover camp costs (food, drinks, used gloves, camp t-shirts) plus give Good Sam a $1500 check to sponsor a child for a Colorado summer camp. The children who participate in Good Samaritan’s youth programs do not have money to attend summer camps, relying solely on scholarship and sponsorships. They also cannot afford brown bag lunches for our baseball camp, and having to rely on the SA food bank if we don’t raise money to cover the costs of their baseball camp. While dedicating time this summer to these children and to a worthwhile cause, it gives us an opportunity to lay a philanthropic foundation for our futures as we prepare for college in the coming years. This positive and impactful endeavor with the kids from Good Sam is guaranteed to be something we will always remember and will give us the leadership and community service tools we need to lean on for the future. By partnering with Good Sam we will establish lifelong relationships with a national non profit organization committed to serving our community. We want to give back to a community that has supported us.
