"Gone Fishing" Helping Special Needs Children

My name is Simon Gray and I am a friend of Michael O'Brien who owns and runs Killarney Fishing Tours. Mick really touched my heart recently when he explained that he teaches fishing to handicapped children and adults with special needs. Mick shared with me that recently he was forced to decline his services to people in wheelchairs and people with serious immobility because they are unable to safely get in and out of the boat. Mick has acquired insurance at a high premium to cover his fishing business to ensure adequate protection for members and is now fundraising to purchase a suitable boat that can be accessed safely by wheelchair users and handicapped people. Specifically Mick needs to purchase an ambulance trailer to take the boat to other lakes and rivers in Kerry, Cork, and Limerick to provide what he feels is an essential service to the people in these areas. I would agree with Mick that this is an essential service having had some, albeit limited experience with special needs children and adults. I created this page for Mick to support him in his fundraising, I work in the technology sector, and Mick is taking my daughter out for her 7th birthday, if you are able to contribute anything to this great cause we would be most appreciative, our goal is to get to €23,000 to cover the cost of a boat and equipment.
