Gomez Tool Replacement Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Armando Aguirre and I am raising funds for my niece Samir Gomez and her husband Saul Gomez and their young family.
Last week while picking up supplies from Home Depot in Long Beach for a constuction job he was scheduled to do that day, Saul walked back out of the store to find his locked truck and all his construction tools and equipment stollen.
He is the main supporter for his young family consisting of his wife Samir and his two young children Saith 7 and Scarlett 5 who he supports by doing odd jobs and construction work for his clients.
- He posted the robbery and a picture of his truck and license plate on the Ring network even though the robbery took place at the Home Depot and not at his home and amazingly someone saw and recognized the truck and called him within 15 minutes of posting, to say they had seen the truck in an industrial area nearby with several people unloading tools and equipment from it near some motorhomes parked on the street.
He reported the incident to Home Depot when it happened and the police right after but amazingly neither offered any meaningful help. The policeman that responded to the scene where Saul located his truck, said that even though someone saw unidentified men unloading his truck near the motorhomes, without catching them in the act or on camera they could not do anything other than file a report. There were 3 large motorhomes parked nearby which have become an alternative to tents for the homeless with the means to obtain them and Saul suspected that one or more of those occupants were involved in the theft but the responding policeman refused to knock on their doors to even question them or look for any sign of the tools.
Saul was able to recover his truck which the theives had hot wired to steal but all the expensive tools he had in the back of his truck were gone.
He also reported the theft to his insurance company. He had full coverage on his truck and Renters Insurance on his home but the Insurance Company told him that because the theft occurred from his truck and not from his home, the insurance would only cover $750 of the $11,000 dollars worth of tools he lost.
Those tools are how Saul supports his young family and with out them they are in serious trouble of losing their livelihood and at risk of losing their home as well, so I am asking any of you who read this posting to help in anyway you can by giving whatever you can, to help Saul buy the tools he needs back so he can continue working and get his young victimized family back on their feet.
Please share this post with your friends and family and thank you for your help!
