Goma Appeal - From Victims to Survivors

Hello!
My name is Mimie, a member of Congolese Action Youth Platform (CAYP) and Common Cause UK. I am committed to alleviating the hardships faced by women living in displacement camps near Goma, Eastern Congo.
**The Situation**
Over 7 million people are currently displaced in and around Goma, living without basic necessities like clean water and hygiene supplies. These women, many of whom are survivors of sexual violence, rely entirely on monthly aid just to feed their children. But they are resilient and capable, and they need more than handouts—they need an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
**How You Can Help**
Your donation will empower vulnerable women to start small businesses, giving them a path to self-reliance, reducing their dependency on aid, and helping to prevent the violence they often face. This initiative will provide the tools and training needed for these women to support themselves and their families. Each time a group of women succeeds, they will help another woman join the initiative, creating a ripple effect of hope.
**Why This Matters**
These women have been forced from their homes, left to survive in unfamiliar places with their children. By helping them start income-generating activities, we are giving them not just a livelihood, but also hope and dignity. A small business can mean food on the table, safety, and a future for their children.
Local organizations AJPC, Kivu Care, and Focus Congo will lead this effort, ensuring every dollar goes directly to helping those most in need. I welcome any questions—please feel free to reach out.
Thank you so much for your support.
Together, we can make a real difference in their lives.
