Golf day FORE Sophie

Donation protected
This years golf day is in support of our niece Sophie. There is no team fee for the day, but we very much hope you will make a generous donation.

In May Sophie, aged 2, was diagnosed with a brain tumour, an aggressive form of Cancer, Ependymoma. Which is incredibly rare, less than 50 children a year develop this in the UK.

Sophie underwent 3 brain operations, totalling 20 hours. Thankfully the tumour had not spread and the treatment so far has been positive. She, and her parents, have lived in Germany for 7 weeks for revolutionary proton beam therapy.  She is now receiving Chemotherapy, here at the RVI.

I'm sure this is a nightmare scenario that we all would not like to face. Her family have been amazing, helping each other as well as keeping Sophie’s sprits high. But the financial impact of having to travel to Germany and are simply living with a sick child are huge. That's the last thing we would want to worry about, but unfortunately it's the reality.  The family say the NHS have been  absolutely brilliant but they can only do so much.

Her parents are very private people and would like to keep their battle as private as possible. I'm sure we all will respect that and not share on social media.

Thank you
