WE'RE ADOPTING!!!
Our family cannot be more excited to be sharing this news that has been over 17 years in the making! Adoption has been on our hearts since we started dating back in 2003, and in God's perfect timing He is opening the door to make this a reality.
Through much prayer and direction from God, our hearts have been drawn to seek to adopt from the Roma peoples living in Bulgaria. The Roma people - or better known as "Gypsies" to some - are a single people who lived in northern India about 1,000 years ago. They left India and settled in Europe in the 14th century. Their cultural and ethnic distinction made them easy targets for persecution, and shortly after their arrival, Roma were being enslaved or even killed in many parts of Europe for many generations. During World War II, up to 1.5 million Roma were massacred in one of the largest mass killings in human history. In the aftermath, the survivors were subjected to forced settlement and sterilization in several communist nations.
Today, the Roma people are extremely discriminated against and in many ways treated worse than animals within their own country. You can read more about the Roma people here .
Our heart in adoption is to seek to lovingly speak into the areas where there is the most spiritual and physical need - and the Roma people of Bulgaria check both of those boxes. Our vision is to see the love of Jesus known to the Roma people through adoption.
We believe God is leading our family to adopt a sibling group of two, and for that we need your help. Please know that we understand it is never easy to ask for financial help, but given what we are asking for, we do it with much joy! Based on the information we have from our adoption agency, what we are seeking to raise here will cover about half the cost with the rest hopefully being taken care of through grants and out of pocket.
We have finished all of the necessary paperwork, and are just now beginning the Home Study process. Our hope and prayer is that this process goes smoothly and quickly, but we understand the entire adoption process can take months or even years to complete. The biggest hurdle in adoption is meeting the financial requirement deadlines as to not pause the entire process. Our goal is to not have finances get in the way of us to continue to move forward. We believe that is possible, and your support can help us toward that end!
By God's kindness and grace, we have the unbelievable opportunity to provide a safe and loving (also loud and crazy) home to two children desperately in need of that. Will you please consider helping to make that a reality for our current and future family?
Please don't hesitate to reach out personally if you have any questions or thoughts you'd like to share. We cannot express our thankfulness to you for your help!
The growing Goins family,
Jesse, Monica, Rylie, Keira, Carson, Aiden, Gavin & ...
