LOCAL HELP FOR LOCAL PEOPLE

Offering support and friendship, Didsbury Good Neighbours is a local charity whose aim is to provide neighbourly support for older people. We do this with a volunteer befriending service, practical help and a program of social activities.

How your donations help Didsbury Good Neighbours

By donating to Didsbury Good Neighbours you are helping to alleviate loneliness, improve mental and physical wellbeing and strive towards improving quality of life of our older community.

We are currently raising funds to address the following areas:

THE WELLBEING VEGETABLE GARDEN

Didsbury Good Neighbours are growing their own vegetables and donating them to our community café to use in their menu. This project will be overseen by our Friendship and Memories Group and be supported by the newly formed DGN Gardening Group. The scheme is in support of Manchester City Councils Carbon Zero target.

We are looking to upgrade various items of our furniture to ensure our members are in the utmost comfort possible whilst they attend our activities.

Our mission is to make a measurable difference to older people by enabling them to lead independent lives and to raise awareness amongst local residents, groups and businesses, of the part they can play in helping to create an age friendly neighbourhood. We enrich the lives of older people in Didsbury by providing practical help and creating opportunities to contribute to society, connect with others and live life to the full.
