On Sunday March 15 we were required by Government mandate to close Chinese Tuxedo and Peachy's indefinitely to aid in the reduction of the spread of COVID-19. It was a devastating decision, but we were left with no other choice to protect the health of our guests, members of our team and our broader community.
75 members of our team are casual employees- they don't know when they will be able to come back to work or when they will receive their next paycheck. They include chefs, servers, bartenders, prep cooks, bar backs, bussers, hosts, overnight porters, reservationists and more. These are the people who have cooked your dinner, prepared your drinks, waited your tables and endeavored to make your special occasions unforgettable. They are people who have made the business of hospitality their career and they are now facing unprecedented uncertainty and pressure.
The outreach and messages of support from our community since our closure have been touching and overwhelming. We are now asking you to channel this support into financial support for our team's most vulnerable.
Any contribution, however small is greatly appreciated and:
100% OF ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING DIRECTLY TO OUR CASUAL EMPLOYEES
Proceeds will be distributed at the end of the month to help with upcoming rent checks and other living costs. Anything that you can do to support is greatly appreciated.
