2022 Project to replace the Garden Boxes.

The Mountain Community Alliance (MCA) is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization located in beautiful Green Valley Lake, California.  Our mission is to serve and enrich our community by holding and sponsoring various activities and events throughout the year.  These events welcome everyone, from children through seniors, and include such things as barn dances, potlucks, holiday celebrations, lectures on gardening, local musician performances, an annual 4th of July Parade---and much more!

Additionally, the MCA sponsors the Community Garden, which is open and welcome to all in the community.  Folks can sit and enjoy the flowers, the view of the lake, eat lunch, play board games, etc.  Periodically musicians will gather for an informal jam; others will join in on our mosaic classes.

The Community Garden was started in 2012 and we invite you to join us in celebrating its 10-year anniversary.  It is starting to show its age and is in dire need of repair.  The wood in the garden boxes is rotting and the mesh wire underneath (gopher prevention) is rusting away. It’s time to replace the boxes and to hopefully add a small greenhouse. Rather than do it piecemeal, we are seeking your support to accomplish this within the next month before the growing season begins.  All planning and labor for this project will be provided by volunteers who live in our community.  We are just in need of support to fund the materials.  The new garden boxes will last an estimated 50 years using improved materials. They will be taller, uniform and will add to the beauty of the garden.  Together we can make this happen.  We ask for your support to help us make this project a success!
