We are beyond grateful to God for providing these three beautiful children, ages 7, 6, and 4, with a truly amazing forever home! (We are not allowed to use names or faces due to foster care rules.) God has led Chris and Amanda to open their hearts and their home to these three precious kids. This is a beautiful answer to the prayers of many whom have prayed for these kids for months and years. Chris and Amanda truly are the perfect adoptive parents for the three amigos! :) They are patient, kind, loving, and fun! Both work at Christian non-profit organizations and serve people in hard places. All glory to God for doing more than any of us could have asked for or imagined in providing the siblings with parents who love God and love others incredibly well.
Seven years ago, God set His plan in motion to provide for these children and their family. It began when several people from various Christian organizations began to come alongside their family with childcare help and a mentoring relationship with their biological mom. To see how God has used His people to care for and love this family in very difficult places has been amazing. The last 8 years have been full of overwhelming situations and moments, but God has been faithful through the uncertainty. His love has been overwhelmingly evident.
The kids' biological mom loves them very much, but she is not able to care for them due to physical and mental challenges. In December, Child Protective Services removed the kids from their home, and they went to separate foster families. In His grace and mercy, God orchestrated a plan that placed the kids with two sisters and their families and one of their dear friends and her family. These families have regularly cared for and loved the kids for four years through the Safe Families ministry. All three kids were able to do life together on a regular basis and stay emotionally connected even while separated in different foster homes.
Once children are placed in the foster care system, the chances that a group of three siblings will be placed together in an adoptive home are very low. We are all incredibly grateful for Chris and Amanda's beautiful hearts and their willingness to bless these beloved kids with such a wonderful family and the opportunity to grow up together. After living in separate homes for the last nine months, they are so excited to live under the same roof again! Their beautiful sibling bond has been so evident in every weekly sibling visit they have had since December.
Amanda and Chris are going from zero to three kids overnight, but they feel confident that God is calling and leading them to welcome this group of siblings into their family. They are fully committed to God’s call on their lives. The kids all come from a trauma background, and one of them is on the autism spectrum; while this job will be full of joy, it will also come with challenges.
With three kids come a LOT of extra expenses, so friends of this sweet new family are starting this fund to help with those expenses as they all transition and become a new family this week. This help will allow Chris and Amanda to focus on the needs of the kids with a better sense of peace regarding finances.
God has been moving in the hearts of so many people on behalf of these sweet kids, and now we are praying for His continued provision through this GoFundMe! There will be a lot of financial needs both in the near future and in the long-term, but right now, the greatest need is a vehicle that will fit all three of the kids' booster seats. A wonderful car dealer has located a terrific Honda Odyssey minivan, and we are praying that this fundraiser will raise money to help with the van. Incidentally, it's the exact same van one of the foster moms drives, and the kids have always begged to ride in her van at sibling visits. They will love this van! :)
The funds that are raised will also be used for educational needs, therapy, dental needs, home needs such as bedroom furniture, school supplies and clothes, and extra-curricular activities. We will communicate needs as time goes on as well. The family is going to stay in their current home for the moment, but there is a possibility that a larger space may be in order. :)
Please pray for Amanda, Chris, the three kids, and the foster families who will miss them but are so incredibly happy for them. They are already excited to provide babysitting for Chris and Amanda. :) Please pray for a smooth transition this week, an immediate bond and sense of belonging to form in their sweet new family, for wisdom for Chris and Amanda as they make many decisions and begin parenting three kids for the first time, for every need they have to be met, and for God's love and grace to be felt by them all.
