Update on Ricky McIntyre 2/26/24

Hi everyone, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and donations which have made such a big difference.

The Dr. reviewed Ricky’s CAT scan and it appears that a few of the screws have pulled out of his sternum. He suggests removing the hardware in the sternum.

He will also determine where his discomfort is in his back T1 - T12 (the posterior chest wall) when he comes in for surgery. At that time he will consider removal of hardware versus harvesting bone marrow from his pelvis and injecting in his ribs to aid in healing.

Surgery is scheduled for the week of 3/18/24.

Please pray for my precious brother. He has been through so much, not just physically and emotionally but financially, trying to get this problem fixed. I know for a fact that God Hears and Answers our prayers, so I thank you in advance for your prayers and your donations. God Bless You All

Ricky McIntyre has a disease called ankylosis spondylitis which causes low bone density. He has been in constant pain for over two and a half years. He has suffered several broken ribs in his back. As most of you know, he had surgery on July 6, and then again on July 8. 

This past Thursday night, Ricky reached to get his medication and thought he’d broken another rib. Today he went to Urgent Care and after being x-rayed, he found that one of the screws in his back had become dislocated from his rib. He is in extreme pain!

At times in life, we all need a helping hand. This is one of those times! Ricky has ALWAYS tried to help others in every way. It’s our time to let him know that we are here for him!!

The only dr that could do this type of surgery is in SC. He has already made two trips there, and will likely have to fly back now for the third time. As we know, airline travels and hotels are not cheap.

No amount is too small. Every amount is extremely appreciated.
