Building health facilities in Ghana
Donation protected
Hello,
Our names are Tristan, Maximo and Victor. We are students from the Antwerp International School and during our summer break, we plan on going to Ghana with an organization known as Global Leadership Adventures (GLA) with the aim of building healthy villages for people who are less fortunate than us.
We believe that the disconnect between our situation and theirs is significant. With such a fortunate life, we often don't realize that the vast majority of people still don't have access to basic needs and safe and healthy environments.
In Ghana, we aim to make a noticeable difference, albeit for only a few unknown families. During our time there, we will be stationed in Dzita, a small fishing village on the coast of western Ghana. In Dzita, a village of about 10,000 people, many families still don't have access to safe toilets and are therefore forced to relieve themselves in an unhygienic manner, often contributing to the spreading of disease.
In Dzita, we will be building building eco compost toilets for families who do not yet have access to such facilities. These toilets will provide privacy and hygiene as well as a high quality fertilizer which will increase crop yields.
Aside from building these toilets, we will also be visiting a local school where we will teach young children and locals how to properly use these toilets as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.
We are sure that our project will be successful, however, this success comes at a price and unfortunately this price is one that we cannot completely handle on our own. In order to acquire the necessary building materials needed to build the eco compost toilets we need your help.
Any little bit that you can spare would help us, and more importantly, the families we will meet there greatly.
Thank you so much!
Tristan, Maximo and Victor
