God’s Roadside Helper (GRsH)
My name is Mark Moger, and I live in Northern Virginia. I’m a parishioner at Saint Francis Catholic Church. I grew up Baptist and converted to the Catholic faith in 2018 with my parents. My dad—who’s now a priest—has always inspired me to live my faith through service.
In September 2025, I felt God put a mission on my heart. One night, I stopped to help a young man on the side of the road who couldn’t remove a locked lug nut. I knew what to do but didn’t have the right tools. I had to leave him there to call for a tow he couldn’t afford. As I drove away, I felt God speak to me:
“I’ve given you the skills and knowledge—you just need the tools. Get them and help My people.”
That moment started God’s Roadside Helper (GRsH)—a mission to serve drivers in need throughout the DMV and wherever I may be driving. If I see someone pulled over, I stop to check if they’re okay. Whether it’s changing a tire, providing gas, water, coolant, or another small repair, I offer everything completely free—no charge, no obligation.
Each water bottle I hand out comes with a GRsH flyer, a St. Frances of Rome prayer card, and a Why Be Catholic pamphlet. It’s a small way to bring God’s peace to people on the road—even those who don’t need help.
Every encounter is done in the grace of Jesus Christ, under the care of St. Frances of Rome, Patron Saint of Drivers.
I’ve worked in three mechanic shops as a lube tech, studied for my Commercial Driver’s License, and completed First Aid and CPR training. I love helping people stay safe and bringing kindness and faith to the roadside.
Your prayers and support help keep this mission going—covering tools, safety gear, and supplies so I can continue to stop and serve those in need.
Together, we can make sure no one feels stranded—physically or spiritually.
