GO2 Foundation – Honoring Tuyen & Lung Cancer Research

This year, I’ll be taking on a fun challenge—swimming around Manhattan in New York on September 13th. As I prepare for this event, I want to use it as an opportunity to support a cause that means a lot to many and especially one of our own partners: Jeff and his late wife, Tuyen.

In 2018, Jeff’s son Ryland lost his loving mother, and Jeff lost his beautiful wife, Tuyen (Twin), after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Tuyen was just 40 years old. She was healthy, never smoked, and had no family history of the disease, yet lung cancer took her life far too soon.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths, accounting for about 25% of all cancer-related deaths in the U.S. It is so deadly because it is extremely difficult to detect early—only 16% of lung cancers are caught in early stages. And tragically, rates of lung cancer among never-smokers, especially women, continue to rise.

Jeff and his family have been strong supporters of the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer, an organization that works to improve early detection, fund research, and provide support for those affected. In honor of Tuyen and the fight against lung cancer, I will be raising funds for GO2 during my swim around Manhattan.
