GO RED FOR AXEL❤️
Axel was diagnosed last year with a congenital and coronary artery anomaly of the heart, which is an underlying cause of Sudden Cardiac Death. Congenital artery anomalies (CAAs) are a common underlying condition in young athletes who experience sudden cardiac death. During the test, it was also discovered that Axel has a Patent Foramen Ovale, Tricuspid Valve Insufficiency with mild annular dilation, tricuspid and pulmonary regurgitation. There is a coronary artery fistula into the right pulmonary artery (RPA) pericardium. Axel is under care with Cleveland Clinic.
Axel is a vibrant young boy who is a Pre-K student at River Valley. He loves volunteering at the Hesston Steam Museum and spending time with his friends. He also volunteers at the New Carlisle Food Bank by helping to fill boxes. Axel enjoys playing T-Ball, riding his bike or scooter, tinkering with tools and engines, and working on his John Deere from his Uncle Ted at Hesston. You will always see Axel outside playing, which wears his body down; he is a kid, and kids don’t slow down.
Axel's mom and dad are volunteers at the Hesston Steam Museum and coach T-Ball for River Valley. They have been working on paying the medical bills and are still paying off the first set of medical bills. Now they will have more bills in addition to normal living expenses.
Bryan, Axel's dad, owns a landscaping business and is currently selling his equipment so Axel can receive the best care. Katie, Axel's mom, is a teacher for Michigan City Area Schools and formerly worked at South Bend Schools. She has been a teacher for over a decade, constantly giving to students, supporting them, and encouraging them—perhaps one of your kids or family members. So, perhaps it is time we support and encourage their son Axel and the family.
Let's come together to support this amazing kid. Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make a heartwarming difference! ❤️
