Joshie's first seizure was at 6 months of age. After 6 more episodes and undergoing a number of tests, Joshua was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Sydnrome is a rare genetic type of epilepsy. Often seizures are uncontrolled and sadly Dravet Syndrome has a higher mortality rate, an also mild to severe development disability.  With 18 hospitalisations in 2018, his Mum, Melissa gave up work to care for him full time.  They are needing to purchase a Patient Monitor for Josh whilst he sleeps, due to now developing nocturnal seizures and risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy).  The device will alarm them of seizure activity (via changes in his vital signs). They also need to help with ongoing medical bills, medications and time off work makes it financially very difficult for Mel and Matt.
